Twice recently I have stopped my car, turned around and went back to a local business after reading their sign.
The first time was after passing a local Burger King, having seen their “FREE fries on April 17th & 18th” sign. I was on my way to a nice resteraunt with my family. But I was blown away by this offer, and I had to find out what the deal was and why they were giving away free food.
The second time was a few days ago when I passed a local used tire shop. Spray painted on a wide stack of tires was that word again: free.
I was amazed that they would be giving away tires to get people to stop. Nevertheless, it was effective.
Too many times I have heard business owners complain about no traffic in their stores or on their websites. When I ask them what their big hook is (what are you giving away in exchange for contact info), their answer is nothing.
What a revelation it is when people realize that they not only can give away something free for opt-in info, but they also can partner with other businesses for giveaways, a game changer to say the least.
Are you utilizing the most powerfull word in marketing? If not, start today. Watch for the cars to turn around as they head back to your business instead of passing by.
